OMG it’s April already!!! Who knew time flies so fast – I guess it does fly since I have so much going on too!! I totally skipped April fools, a time of year where I like to prank but that came and went and I did nothing, I didn’t even catch pokemon!! (All my friends were catching Pokemon thanks to the Google Map Pokemon Challenge)
Here are some awesome things I did do during April though!!
That’s enough excitement for me already for one month!! I totally miss having my nothing to do weekends!!
Audition and CF shoot
So this was a very interesting experience since I haven’t really auditioned for much or know what to expect. Pretty much turned up and got told to do some Korean dancing since they were looking for girls to pretend to be a kpop idol group. Luckily they played What’s your Name, which I already knew the dance too yay!!! As you can see here from my short teaser dance clip.
Then they call u back for a second round with the director, and I was so nervous because I saw so many pretty young girls waiting as well – so cute 😀 Hard not to feel a bit inadequate and yea, I had to be at work by 9:30 too so I had to rush my way through the audition. We had to do a jumping move which was very simple and awkward feeling! To be honest I didn’t think I’d get the part at this stage!!
Few days later though I got a callback and got the role which was super surprising for me!! I was excited although I wasn’t sure I wanted to do at this point since the jumping didn’t feel like dancing much 😛
Then it as rehearsal of a dance routine and then shooting day!!
Shooting day started at 8am, so early for me and we practiced the routine once again and waited around for some hours while other people were filming their part. Then we did make up (they did a strange cat eye look for me I’m not used to) and shooting. Shooting was fun and tiring at the same time and you don’t realise how hard it is to do moves and remember to do expressions and then d it repeatedly!! Very much respect for actresses and actors etc that do this everyday for 12 hours at a time!! Seriously hard work!
After a few hours I was pooped and had a nap 🙂
I didn’t know where to take my bf initially so I was sifting through holidays to Gold Coast or Cairns and we only had a couple of days since he didn’t have that much time off from work so we couldn’t go overseas so I settled on Melbourne!! Best decision ever!! I loved that place!! I actually spent a few years of my childhood there, when I came to Australia we stayed in Melbourne for a few years before moving to Sydney.
My bf is a closet hippie foodie so we spent our days and nights restaurant hopping to some yummy places!! We tried Chin Chin (omg must try the Feed Me menu) we also ended up at Cumullus Inc twice once for lunch menu and once for brekky and also had our last mean at Flower Drum (a super fancy cantonese restaurant).
Also love the hotel we stayed at. It was a cute boutique warehouse conversion hotel called PuntHill Manhattan which I booked through Zuji (which has the cheapest travel deals by far)!!
It’s a super cute Warehouse conversion hotel and it was in a great location (Flinders Lane) and not too expensive 🙂
I loved it so much it will be a backdrop to some upcoming StylePoint and this lovely instagram photo:
I love the windows and the high ceilings of this place!! I will def include some shots in my upcoming videos 🙂
