I’m obsessed with lilac hair

I thought my desire for crazy colored hair has well and truly been extinguished with maturity, but as I have found out recently….age is no barrier when it comes to pretty candy colored hair! That or I’m completely terrified of getting closer to the big 30. In fact I made a decision in my head the other day that I’m going to be turning 30 forever :)! I wasn’t made to age gracefully…. So in my desperate need to feel like a teenager again, I decided that coloring my hair crazy colors was the was the best way to get in touch with my subtle teenage rebellion days.

But unlike the “good ol’ days” – yes my age sensitivity makes me feel like a grandma sometimes, what was once reserved for goths and rebel high schoolers has now somewhat become a fashion statement, with the models of the world starting to rock the pastel hair color trend.

At first I really loved the idea of candy pink hair, but being a true “girly girl” has never felt right to me. Lilac is a really good middle ground between girly and cool!
Singaporean blogger Xia Xue who first got me thinking about candy colored hair πŸ™‚
No comes the exciting lilac hair photos πŸ™‚
How magical does her whole look feel :)?
Looks great in the sun, love how it’s also fading as well
beautiful with curls too πŸ™‚
I love the aqua gradient!!
The pinky purple is also on my list :
The silver blonde underneath is to die for with the slight tinge of lilac
Looking at these pictures, makes me want to get my tub of bleach and developers out right now!! However, through many mistakes I have made, I’ve learnt that if you ever want to make a drastic change, it’s probably a good idea to “try” it first without committing – this meant a $15 dollar lilac wig off ebay!!
For the low cost of $15, I could have saved weeks of ridicule – notice all those photos are of pretty caucasian’s, I haven’t yet been able to find an asian lilac hair wearer through all my online stalking πŸ™ – link me if you have one!
So I decided to try on my newly arrived wig and…dadadada:
The thing I had to tell myself is that wigs look way to shiny and the structure is also going to be less natural, because I really felt like a cosplay character as soon as I put it on. I might as well have started pulling out peace signs and jumping up and down because that suited me so much at that moment! My hair is also never this straight unless I purposely GHD it. In these photos I’ve also toned down the “shine” as well because it really does look very shiny – and no way will my hair be shiny once I’ve passed 3 rounds of bleach through it – more like about to fall off…
What do you guys think?? Cosplay character or possible hair color of choice?? Would really love your opinions on this as I gather my courage πŸ™‚
One last camwhore photo from my phone πŸ™‚ and the wig in all it’s shiny glory!

UPDATE!!! I FINALLY DID IT!!!

Lilac hair look so cool. I'd like to maintain this colour too but I love my long hair too much lol I am too afraid of killing them completely by bleaching.
But as I can see from your pics I think you should go for it! πŸ™‚

I say try everything once -especially when it comes to hair color! Going back darker is easy! (I think for blonds going dark would be scarier because it would be harder to lift the color.) Having said that, I`m really wanting to try ash blond on my dark hair!

Ohh Ash blonde is a must it's soo pretty :)!!! I've always been obsessed with a milk tea color -> I've put so many greens and blue tints in my hair hoping to take the orange out, it's a battle with asian hair πŸ™
